Pocket Guide & Activity Booklet
Wander the Rim is a 6 x 6 pocket guidebook concept created for California's San Bernardino mountain towns, with the Crestline edition designed as both a retail travel booklet and a customizable branded publication for local businesses, visitor centers, real estate professionals, and tourism-based promotions.
The project combines regional storytelling, destination research, local landmarks, scenic driving, and print-conscious layout design into a compact 20-page saddle-stitched format made for easy distribution, small-space display, and economical short-run production.
Behind the Project
Create a compact regional guide that could work as both a retail product and a custom-branded marketing piece for local businesses, tourism partners, and client-facing companies. The booklet needed to feel useful, collectible, and fun while staying economical to print, easy to display, and flexible enough to support different branded editions.
A 6 x 6 pocket guidebook was developed around the Rim of the World Highway, combining local storytelling, coloring pages, and simple interactive elements into a compact 20-page saddle-stitched format. The square size and print-conscious layout make the booklet suitable for retail displays, welcome packets, visitor counters, and custom-branded distribution.
The project demonstrates regional publishing, editorial planning, print production, and brandable product design in one compact format. Beyond functioning as a local guide, Wander the Rim establishes a repeatable publishing model that can be adapted for other towns, tourism regions, businesses, and branded client experiences.
